The National Kitchen & Bath Association is a non-profit trade association that has educated and led the kitchen and bath industry for more than 35 years. The mission of NKBA is to enhance member success and excellence by promoting professionalism and ethical business practices, and providing leadership and direction for the kitchen and bathroom industry. Members are forbidden to engage in unethical and improper business practices and to condone improper business conduct of employees. Members shall not use misleading or bait advertising, false disparagement of competitors, deceptive pricing, advertising, or warranties as determined by the Board of Directors of the Association. |

CKD Certification, held by Rick Blanco, President
While there are many designers who "do" kitchens, only a limited number hold credentials as Certified Kitchen Designers (only 98 in the state of Florida, as of May 2007). It takes years of training and expertise to earn the coveted CKD initials. Moreover, individuals who have passed the CKD exam must continue to polish their professional skills. CKDs are required to participate in an Ongoing Professional Development program, whereby they earn continuing education credits by attending educational programs, seminars and conferences. Certified Kitchen Designers also adhere to a Code of Professional Conduct, which assures the public of their integrity. |
